Burgers and Football

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thyre @ 4:34 pm

Summer’s almost over but there is still plenty of sunlight to get out in the yard and throw something on the grill. Here’s what I’m eating tonight while watching the Bears Giants game: Juicy Asian Burger and a Peanut butter Chocolate Shake.

I hear you saying, “How can that be good for you?” My answer, it is if you do it right.

– 1 pound ground turkey

– minced onion

– minced green and red bell pepper

– crushed garlic

– chopped parsley or cilantro

– pepper

– fresh grated ginger

– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire

– 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce

Mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl; divide the mixture into thirds and make 3 thick burger patties.

You can grill these or you could even make them in a skillet (just use a little cooking spray), just cook until they are done the way you like it. Now you can just put the turkey patty in/on a salad, or you can opt for the tomatoes, onions, and pickles but wrap it in lettuce instead of using a hamburger bun (my favorite option).

Now on to that delicious delicious shake.

– ¼ cup of ice cubes

– 6 oz. of water

– 1 Scoop of chocolate protein powder

– 1 tablespoon of organic all natural no salt added peanut butter

Mix it well in a blender and enjoy! It totally taste like a Reese’s peanut butter cup. Please enjoy this drink responsibly. There are about 100 calories in the peanut butter and usually 250 for the protein powder.

But hey as a once every other weekend treat its one that does have to break the nutrition bank. So give ‘em a try tonight or tomorrow, come back and let me know what you think.

Bon appetit,

T
