Training By Tye in Rancho Cucamonga presents our TYETAN Of The Month
Each month we will select a member that is consistently hard working and a valued team member who has demonstrated what it means to be a Tyetan.
Tell us about yourself.
Hi everyone, I’m Robyn Brown and I’ve been retired about 15 years while enjoying raising my granddaughter here in Rancho Cucamonga.
So why did you join TBT?
A friend who is a member here had been trying to get me to check out Training By Tye for a good long while, as I would often complain about the way I looked and felt. I knew I wanted to do something, but figured it might not be in the cards for me since I am over 60. One day she said to just come with her to a training session and I could finally decide whether or not I wanted to do it. I joined that very day!
What were things like for you before joining Training By Tye?
Before I went to TBT with my friend as I mentioned I often complained about how I looked and felt, because I just didn’t feel like myself. Previously I was quite active, ate fairly healthy and didn’t have too difficult a time maintaining my weight and energy levels. However once I retired and began to take care of my granddaughter I minimized many of my opportunities to take care of my own health.
Day by day I exercised less and made poor food choices. These hasty actions unfortunately led to constant tiredness, weight gain, and just an overall dislike of my body. It seemed impossible for me to lose the extra weight I kept gaining over time. I just didn’t feel as healthy as I should anymore.
What was your first impression of your Training By Tye experience and workouts?
Well, before we even went in I was sure I was going to embarrass myself during the training! I was so nervous I tried to talk myself out of even going. When we began the session, Tye eased me in by evaluating my abilities and paying close attention during the workout. I was pleasantly surprised by not only Tye’s knowledge, but how hard everyone else was working.
You bet the first few months were kind of difficult, but before long I was able to do all sorts of things I thought impossible before.
What tools have benefited you most while training?
The biggest benefit for me was doing a few challenges. The nutrition guides given provided the insight and stability I needed to not only lose weight, but gave me the ability to keep the weight off. When you pair that info with the intense training sessions there is no way but up.
How is Training By Tye different from things you’ve done before? What makes us unique?
After doing many things that worked for me when I was younger, those same things not only were no longer appealing they flat out just didn’t work. The most unique thing about Training By Tye is that this place is full service. Tye takes care of your individual needs in order to help you succeed; she get’s to know each person and works with and personally encourages you.
What results and benefits have you experienced thus far?
When I first started I was on a 2 pounds a month pace for weight loss by just adding the training. When I began to adjust my nutrition and also started doing challenges I finished my first year down 30 lbs. My energy skyrocketed and I was no longer out of breath from just walking up the stairs.
Now that I am more than 2 years in I’ve lost (and kept off) 50 pounds! I’m so much stronger than I ever thought I could be and I am much healthier. The second best thing about it was that I needed a new wardrobe 🙂
What would you say to anyone looking at joining Training By Tye?
Joining Training By Tye was not only one of the best things I have done for myself but it was the smartest. You simply have to do it…if you wan tto look your best, lose weight, become stronger and more fit, you won’t find a better trainer than Tye to get you there.
