If you’re like most people, you started out with great intentions to make this the year that you really hit your health and fitness goals…

But it’s already halfway through the month and you’ve go nothing to show or worse yet, you don’t know what you’re doing and you feel and look worse:

For the next couple of weeks, we are offering a sale on our training in the form of the New Year 5 week blitz transformation contest to the first 30 action takers (new clients only).

I’d like to help you along with your family and friends lose 10-25 pounds and 5-10 inches so that you could win some awesome prizes!

This New Year 5 Week Blitz Contest is going to be so much different then any other weight loss program or fitness program you have ever tried.

I’ve designed the program to overcome the main fail factor…YOU.

Haha, not trying to be a jerk here, but it’s true. During this 5 week contest you will have a partner. You can choose your own partner or I will provide you one.

The reason you have a partner is because we as humans will allow ourselves to fail if it’s just about us. But when you throw another person in the mix, you push a lot harder because you don’t want to let them down.

The Contest will be based on a point system. You and your partner will share points. If one of you does bad, it effects the both of you. But it also works the other way around when you do good:-)

Now I know what you may be thinking…

  • You don’t have any time to get in shape
  • It’s been difficult to stick to a fitness routine
  • You hate running on a treadmill for hours with no results
  • You’re not really sure how motivated you are
  • You don’t know where to start

At Training By Tye we’ve got all that covered.

Every workout session is led by an experienced personal trainer and is designed to be fun and supportive giving maximum results in minimum time.

Your workouts will be done in a small group setting which makes them fun, motivating, challenging AND it keeps the cost of the program affordable. So you get all the RESULTS you want for a fraction of the price!

With our Metabolism Energizing effect you can achieve Quicker Weight Loss in LESS than 1 hour a day in an Exciting, Fun and Non-Intimidating atmosphere.

TBT Cookies?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thyre @ 8:57 pm

I like food, A LOT.  You probably already knew that!  I love making healthier versions of JUNK we grew up eating.

I’ve got a recipe for none other than “oreos”. But I don’t have a lot of time and I am a total kitchen klutz so I DID NOT make this thing up.

I actually haven’t even looked into the nutrition aspect of it nor made them myself, but the thought of it was fun so I figured I would pass it on to you and check it out when I have more time (yeah that’s going to happen).

Cookie Monster

Cookie ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup spelt flour
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • large pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 2 tbsp milk or almond milk

Filling ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Cookie directions:

  1. Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix together all wet ingredients. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until a ball of dough forms and chill in fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a thin layer.
  4. Use a circle cookie cutter to cut out small circles of dough.
  5. Place circles of dough on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake 7-10 minutes and let cool before removing from pan.

Filling directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spread filling on a cooled cookie and top with another cookie.

If you do make these, fill free to drop one off at the gym, I’m usually there most of the day 😉  Have an awesome weekend TBT fam.

I Challenge You

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thyre @ 2:58 pm

I challenge you to a duo?

Hahaha I know it’s duel, but c’mon that’s funny, because it’s a duo of vegetables…vegetables…

There’s going to be 2 of them…no, you no like my pun?

Whatevs

Okay but seriously on July 12th we will start our “21 Day Veg-A-Day Challenge”.

Here’s the challenge, you must eat a different pair of vegetables and a different fruit everyday for 21 days; That’s 42 varieties of vegetables and 21 different fruits! There is a humble buy in of $5 to enter the challenge which must be paid by Saturday July 11th.

If you’re like me, you typically eat the same 4-6 vegetables and 3 or 4 fruits every week.  We are totally missing out on not only flavor variety, but more importantly nutrient variety.

Since all foods pack varying nutrient profiles we are truly missing out on a ton of muscle growth and fat loss potential.  As I always say, “A healthy and properly aligned body has little trouble gaining a little muscle and losing extra fat.”

The rules are, as I have mentioned, you must try 2 different vegetables and 1 fruit every day for 21 days.  You can repeat any food item in your daily diet however, you may only count 2 new vegetables each day. So if you eat broccoli every day for the entire 21 days, you may only count it 1 time.

More rules: post a picture of your veggies (“new friends”) and fruit daily on the Training By Tye Facebook and/or Instagram page with the tag of #Trainingbytyeveg.

Official signups begin July 3rd.

Oh I nearly forgot…everyone who makes it all 21 days eating 42 different vegetables and 21 different fruit will receive a prize at the end!!

What’s the prize, oh you’ll like it no worries. See you in the gym kids.

I Pose A CHALLENGE

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thyre @ 7:06 pm

I don’t know about you, but this whole no winter thing is growing on me. I mean I know it’s not good for the environment, especially since we need as much rain water as possible here in So Cal, but seriously who is not down with shorts and a Tee in February huh?

I was outside the gym yesterday in my shorts…that’s a joke for anyone who knows me knows I only wear shorts even when it’s cold (which its not =D). Back to the story, outside and discussing with a TBT member about getting more people to take care of their health.

She says, “Yeah, well you know, the economy”, which is everyone’s answer for everything.

You know Americans are only second or third in the medal count  in the winter Olympics, yeah well you know the economy…my dog has the BG’s everyday, yeah well you know the economy. AHHHHHH!

I’m thinking not so much, really it’s a values thing. Most people take their health for granted and don’t actually value health high enough to do anything preventative such as coming to visit Rancho Cucamonga’s best metabolic small group personal fitness trainer.  Which is cool if you know that that is what you’re doing?

People will say they can’t afford it instead of saying I don’t want to, I think they think they might offend someone by saying no! Seriously dude it’s your body…Imma still do me no matter what you do.

The way I figure it cost a heck of lot less to come see me than it is to see your doctor, but hey it’s your call yo.

So I wanted to put a CHALLENGE out, if people really want to get information about getting more fit then I will do something I’ve never done before.

NAME YOUR PRICE!

name price

And that’s what’s up…During the entire month of March you can come down to see me and tell me what you want to pay for my services and we will work out a deal. As you know people only purchase things they think are worth more than the price, so you can come tell me what you think its worth and what you are willing to pay.

I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is, are you?name priceline

Tell me, how many new people do you think will join Training By Tye during the month long Name Your Price challenge? I’d love to hear your answers in the comments section below or on the facebook.

Couples Workout

What’s up!? Happy Wednesday kiddo

As you know Friday is Valentine’s Day so I wanted to give you a little somethin’ somethin’. No not flowers, chocolates, or a diamond ring, but this great 3 circuit partner fat loss workout that you could do with your significant other.

These circuit protocols are known as “partner density training” and are one of the many we use at Training By Tye not a boot camp small group training to burn a ton of fat and calories with a partner.Sorry No Video

Here’s how it works.

Each circuit has 2 exercises. You will perform 12 reps of the first exercise and your partner has to do the other exercise for however long it takes you to finish the first. Once you have finished your 12 reps your partner is done as well and you switch.

The goal is to get as many rounds done as you can in 5 minutes. Here are the three circuits.

Circuit #1
– Jump squat x 10 reps
– Plank

Circuit #2
– Push-ups x 10 reps
– Jump Jacks

Circuit #3
– Burpees x 10
– Glute Bridge Marching

The exercises themselves are pretty basic compared to what we normally do in one of our awesome training sessions but it’s a great bodyweight version that you can do at home with no equipment.

Speaking of awesome Training By Tye small group training sessions if you are already signed up to the newsletter keep an eye on your inbox Friday for a Valentine’s Day couples special.

Valentines With Pookie Bear

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thyre @ 5:03 pm

Valentine’s Day is almost here and Im not a huge fan, but I do happen to like the general atmosphere of the time. Plus who doesn’t love eating chocolates and going out to a nice dinner? And let’s not forget the more….ummmm lets call it…..private ways of celebrating Valentine’s Day 😉

Well there is another way of celebrating Valentine’s Day that will get you sweaty and make you feel less guilty about the chocolates and dinner and simultaneously improve the more private celebration that happens later on. I’m talking about a Valentine’s Day workout! cupcake

Here’s a great way to workout with your honey on Valentine’s Day just like we do at Training By Tye group personal training. It’s called “partner density training”.

We’ve talked about density training before you can check that out here.  As an overview, the way it works is that you have to do 10 reps of a certain exercise while your honey has to do a separate exercise. But there is a twist. Your partner has to do THEIR exercise for however long it takes you to finish yours before you can switch.

simpson ValentinesHere’s an example:

You do 20 jump squats while your partner holds a plank. Your partner holds a plank for however long it takes you to complete your 20 reps, then you switch.

Try that circuit out yourself and see how many times you and your partner can switch in 5 minutes.

Check this bad boy out and let me know what you think. In a couple days I’ll send you a full 3 circuit workout you can do with your sugarbear…if I have time I will film it.

Pain Values and Super Bowl

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thyre @ 4:18 pm

What’s up kiddo, how’s your day treating you? Ive been on my workout every morning (5a) and Im actually feeling good (thanks Rae!). Getting it done early is really giving me time during the day to get my reading in too.

Last time we were discussing the values hierarchy of a few pleasurable states, so there is of course the flip side of that and we will look at the fear dominated avoidance emotions. Again there are some on the list that we will do more to avoid than others, so simply put them in the order of the painful emotional state that you would least like to be in to the one that would bother you the least…the one at the top of the list would be the one that you would do absolutely anything to avoid feeling and the one at the bottom wouldn’t be so bad mmmmkay

This time we’ve got:

1. Humiliation
2. Guilt
3. Anger
4. Depression
5. Failure
6. Rejection
7. Frustration
8. Loneliness

So in the book, the author was saying that if your top hierarchy of values both towards (pleasure) and away (pain) are opposites than you will be have conflicting thoughts and that people will do more to avoid pain than they will to gain pleasure. Come get Stretched Out

If youre like me and your top towards is success and your top away is Failure/Humiliation then you cannot be successful until you change something. Not that I didn’t know this before, but the way it was put makes it so simple to understand that it makes you want to change.

So back to the comment last time when I said that I read the Left Behind series in about a month then promptly stated that I wasn’t just sitting around reading, that I had work and other things going on while reading; as I mentioned earlier failure and humiliation are feelings I would do just about anything to avoid, so I was qualifying my reading rate as to not look slow (or humiliated at my reading rate). Speaking of reading rate, I told you I was just about half way through Mockingjay the 3rd book in The Hunger Games trilogy…well I finished it!

It was amazing, until it wasn’t :/ The last few pages of the last chapter killed it for me. If you’ve read it tell me what you think.

Alright y’all, put your pain hierarchy of values in the comments below or on FB and if you read all the hunger games books

Anyway enough about that stuff. Who’s going to win the Super Bowl huh?

Values and Hunger Games

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thyre @ 12:01 pm

In this New Year I’ve been doing  A LOT of reading, there are about 30-35 books I want to get to before the year is up. Mostly business books and personal growth type stuff…I don’t read a lot of fiction.

Right now Im learning about values and what it says about how you make your way through life, super cool stuff.

Oh and real quick let me tell you, I try to stay away from fiction because I cant put the dang thing down most of the time! And I typically like series. Yup read the WHOLE Left Behind series in about a month (I do have to work and Im not a fast reader so that it really good for me)

Anywho back to the fiction thing…you may have heard of a little book series called The Hunger Games! It came out about 6 years ago, but blew up about 2 years ago when they began releasing the film series. So my pal G (shout out to Gunny who is hip to the game)  2 years ago tells me he’s reading it trying to finish just before the first movie which was being released a week before his birthday. Im thinking, “oh brother, is this going to be as big and lame as the Twi Hards and Henry Pothead crap?”

I indulge him by asking what it’s about and deciding that it’s not my bag, but good for everyone who is enjoying it ya know.

Well I saw the first movie, I don’t know, maybe about 6-7 months ago, it was alright nothing to write home about. Well 2 weeks ago I by chance got a hold of the second book and read it. Yup finished the whole thing in about 8 or 9 days. And I am now about half way through book 3. O M G!!

It’s amazing, I cant put it down…once again why I hate to read fiction; I got stuff to take care of, I can’t be sitting around reading books that aren’t helping me be a better trainer, business person, or person in general  :p

On that note, back to the whole values thing that I intended to write about in the first place.

Lets have some fun, shall we? Put the following pleasurable states in order of value to you…you may be surprised at what you put. Now certainly you probably value all of the emotions on the following list and that they’re all important for you to feel as well as a lot more. But it would be fair to say that you value some over others, that you’ll do more to achieve some than others, right?.

Show me yours and I’ll show you mine!

1. Love
2. Success
3. Freedom
4. Comfort
5. Passion
6. Intimacy
7. Health
8. Security
9. Adventure
10. Power

So place your hierarchy of values in the comments below I’d love to see what yours are. Quick side note, did you notice how I qualified the length of time I took to read the left behind series?  In a couple of days I will be sharing the other end of the spectrum, the emotions we try to avoid, and it’ll all make sense why I did that.

Holla Back Yo
